Our Mission

Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive community hub where neighbors can connect, learn, grow, and thrive together.

Our Vision

Our vision is a community where everyone has access to opportunities for recreation, growth, and connection, regardless of background or circumstance.

Welcome to the heart of our neighborhood! South Winnipeg Community Centre is a place where friendships are formed, skills are learned, and everyone has a place to belong. Explore our programs, events, and discover how we can help you connect, grow, and thrive.

Our Board and Management has the responsibility for establishing and protecting the overarching purpose, ethical principles and fundamental values that govern the activities of the SWCC. These help to form the foundation of the organization and its planning for the future.

Re-envisioning Waverley and Richmond Sites

Background

  • The City of Winnipeg is developing a new recreation campus in the Bison Run neighbourhood. It is an important project but cannot serve all the community’s recreation and programming needs alone.
  • South Winnipeg Community Centre (SWCC) is integral to community well‑being and recreation in southwest Winnipeg.
  • SWCC has provided programming that responds to community needs fordecades and will continue to play this important role.
  • The community centre sites need investment to update facilities and provide the right mix of amenities.

Waverley Centre (1885 Chancellor Dr.)
The Waverley clubhouse hosts a large social hall, club office, three outdoor hockey rinks, two baseball diamonds, batting cage, mini-soccer and cricket pitch. The club hosts birthday parties, local groups like the Cub Scouts, early child family center and an annual summer carnival.

Richmond Centre (666 Silverstone Ave.)
The Richmond clubhouse is the site for the club office, canteen, indoor ice arena.  The club contains the large main floor banquet or the smaller upstairs, hall which hosts programs such as dance, pilates, karate and Zumba! The grounds include a public skating and hockey rink, two baseball diamonds, batting cage plus a mini soccer pitch on the east side.

We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Treaty 1 territory and that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
