WHAT IS TIMBITS SOFTBALL?

  • Tim Bits softball is a program that introduces the game of softball to children in a fun way. The program ensures children have fun while improving their fitness and developing their skills. The softball program is:
    – action packed,- fosters success for all ability levels,
    – contains activities and lead up games that are patterned after informal playground games
    – provides every child more opportunities to develop softball skills because everyone is active for every minute of every session
    – is Nationally recognized and approved Players will want to come back for more non-stop Fun and Action!!

We would like to send a huge thank you to Stef Brunel for volunteering as the Tim Bits softball convener. The Tim Bits
softball convenor organizes the registration process and team equipment distribution/return for youth residing in the
South Winnipeg Community Centre catchment area.

Timbits Softball is made up of two (2) age-appropriate levels.  Each level considers the characteristics of children (both

competitive environment.

– 10 – 12 participants per group

Level 1 (Ages 4 – 5)

Softball (8-19)

The Winnipeg SouthWest Youth Softball Association (WSWYSA) is a volunteer-based body for administration and encouragement of softball for all skills and age levels in southwest Winnipeg.

Softball programs for girls are offered for ages 8 to 19 years. Local community clubs coordinate the registration of players and WSWYSA organizes the league, games, umpires, and playoffs.

The softball season begins in April (depending on weather or availability of inside facilities) with the regular
season games taking place during May and June.  Participants will have two games per week with most teams holding
additional practices during the week. League/Division playoffs are typically held in late June. For those teams that
qualify, provincial playoffs commence in early July.

We would like to send a huge thank you to Stef Brunel for volunteering as the softball convener. The softball convenor
organizes the registration process, tryouts/coach identification/team formation and team equipment distribution/return for youth residing in the South Winnipeg Community Centre catchment area. Practice schedules are coordinated with coaches at designated nearby baseball fields.
